EFL030 – Electric for Life 030 – Gareth Emery

EFL030 – Electric for Life 030 – Gareth Emery

There are many reasons as to why I love electronic genres more than most in this point in my life and episodes like these solidify those reasons – the ingenuity, the fans, and the emotions. I did not ever expect to hear a dance track dedicated to the memory of Bobby Kennedy and yet here one is. Starting nice and deep as always, Gareth featured a brand new track entitled ‘Bobby K’ from Lucian and Remmi. As soon as I heard the lyrics to this track, I instantly knew I had to feature it tonight. Continuing on, another delicious Trance Life feature for you this week was Matt Fax‘s ‘Supertaper.’ Now I thought I was the only one who’s heard of this talented producer on the Zerothree label, but as always Gareth proves me wrong and featured this up and comer from France.

No surprise for me in regards to this week’s EFL Anthem as everyone had a huge reaction to last week’s track of the week ‘Another Word For Love.’ I’m a huge fan of Late Night Alumni and I can’t get enough of this new ‘Eclipse’ release, truly one of a kind! Now for some trance… I definitely love when Gareth plays some true trance on Electric for Life and playing Orjan Nilsen’s ‘Now We Are Talking’ genuinely fulfilled that portion of my trance addiction for this episode. As well as the second play of Ferry Corsten’s ‘Anahera’ under the Gouryella alias. Even though this track has been played in just about every show I listen to for the past couple of weeks, I still love it every time its dropped.

An additional treat for me on EFL030 was Lema & Shafer’s track ‘Summer Air’ featuring the stunning vocals of Gareth’s sister, Roxanne Emery. I’m a huge fan of both her vocals in electronic music, as well as her own productions. Next on the docket we have my favorite remix of Markus Schulz’s ‘Destiny’ by Kyau & Albert. Sorry Morgan Page, I still enjoy yours though! This week’s classic ‘Leaving London’ by Team SR was released right when I was starting high school and that for sure took me back, bringing a huge smile to my face remembering when I first discovered electronica. As our finale we have SteLouse’s track ‘Closer’ and due to the unique nature of this track, some wise words from Gareth Emery, “Fuck the genres!”
