EFL046 – Electric for Life 046 – Gareth Emery

EFL046 – Electric for Life 046 – Gareth Emery

Today’s EFL046 was an extremely interesting episode. With a variety of genres presented by Gaz each week, there is always something for everyone, regardless of their musical preference. It was surely a non-stop thrill ride starting with Claptone’s remix of Faithless’s ‘Bombs’ from their new 20 year compilation and ending with a track that I’ve personally never heard before, as I was still in single digits when it was released. Either way, I surely enjoy today’s episode and I hope you do too.

I don’t usually listen to the deeper side of genres, unless it’s Tuesday and I’m listening to Electric for Life. As such, the first track that stood out for me was entitled ‘Music’ by D-Nox & Victor Ruiz featuring Alex Stein & Beckers. The build and emotion on this one is impeccable! The track in it’s entirety is soothing and comforting featuring an exceptionally addicting melody and chord progression. It’s only been a few hours since the broadcast of EFL046 and I’ve already listened to it multiple times, so that should definitely tell you something.

Now for my Coldharbour fans, I’m sure you heard ‘Cathedral’ on last week’s GDJB, but in case you haven’t, how excited are you for the return of Dakota? It’s been over a year since Markus Schulz has released a track under his darker pseudonym, but I believe the wait was worth it! As I was listening to this at work, I wanted nothing more than to be in a club with the lights turned low and allowing myself to be taken over by the music.

For my last feature, you need to know that I’ve always been a huge Kyau & Albert fan and when I saw this come up on the live stream, I lost it. I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard Paul Kalkbrenner’s ‘Feed Your Head,’ but I instantly knew the vocals from Jefferson Airplane’s ‘White Rabbit.’ I know this one will be in collection for years to come. There’s just something about their tracks and remixes that strike a chord in my heart. And with the addition of those vocals, this one is unstoppable. Excellent work!

Go ask Alice, when she’s ten feet tall…

As always, Gareth amazes me with his diversity in track selection. This was definitely what I needed to shake off those Monday blues and enjoy my Tuesday in a blissful manner.
