EFL051 – Electric for Life 051 – Gareth Emery
“A good melody can change the world.” – Gaz
What a great turn out for EFL051! We were all blown away with awesome new tracks from some of the most influential acts in our scene: CamelPhat, Steve Angello, Kydus, and Cosmic Gate, just to name a few. But first and foremost, we here at Trance Life are very happy to congratulate Gareth on finishing his newest album, as well as Armin van Buuren on his latest album release. Two of his new tracks were featured on today’s show, and as expected, fans were loving every single beat.
Today’s episode kicked off with the wondrous pop duo from London, Oh Wonder, and their new hit single ‘All We Do.’ That track hits you right in the feels with its emotional lyrics and soft melody and it was nicely followed by the similar sound of ‘Cutting Ties’ by Wish I Was. Apparently, we’re in school each and every day, as I had no idea that TyDi was behind this particular moniker. Either way, it is much darker and deeper than his usual tracks and I highly enjoyed it. Things then picked up with CamelPhat’s ‘Get Sick,’ and Norman Doray’s ‘#BringBackTheGroove,’ featuring Bottai. Holy cow! I motion to bring back the groove all day, every day!
Congratulations also go to Alex Sonata and his new release ‘Sunrise,’ which features Angel Taylor. What a glorious tune that was! And of course, being the AnjunaGeek that I am, I found Will McGlone’s remix of Above & Beyond’s ‘Counting Down The Days’ to be more than phenomenal. Ashley Walbridge conquered Track of the Week with ‘Lullaby For A Soldier,’ which comes at the perfect time for Veteran’s Day tomorrow. And we agree with Gaz on this one when he says that it’s great to see Ashley back on the trance train! And thanks to fans, the newlywed Andrew Bayer made the cut for this week’s EFL Anthem with ‘Celestial.’
