EFL059 – Electric for Life 059 – Gareth Emery
“A good tune always deserves a replay!”
‘Chordplay’ makes its second appearance in a row on EFL059, and I am so excited it has. I’ve murdered that track since hearing it last week on EFL058 because it is just that good. Sebastian Weikum blew us away with that tune, so I congratulate him again on the success of his new hit.
This week’s podcast was mainly focused on underground artists. We were promised that EFL would emphasize more on subversive talents this year, and Gaz is holding up quite well on that assurance. One of my personal favorites was ‘I Won’t Fall,’ a brilliant progressive trance track produced by Headstrong, which features the angelic vocals of Danish singer Stine Grove. The version played in this episode is a tasteful remix by Russian Trance group Aurosonic, and it has received massive support from BBC Radio. It was named Tune of the Week from Armin van Buuren and was also voted Future Favorite on his ASOT radio show.
We got a taste of the classic tune ‘As The Rush Comes,’ however, in a unique remix by Bulgarian artists Ahmet Kılıç & Stoto. With the vocals being seriously pitched down, and the amazing fusion of Nu Disco and Trance, this track blew everyone away. As true EDM lovers, we are never fond of producers touching any classic jams, but this remix is sincerely perfect!
The EFL Anthem title once again goes to Luke Bond and CARTEL for their latest hit ‘Once More,’ and the Classic honor goes to Armin van Buuren’s 2012 remix of ‘L’Esperanza,’ originally released in 2009 by Airscape, a Belgian trance act composed of Johan Gielen and formerly, Sven Maes.
Five more days until the next show! And be sure to check out Gaz’s appearance on ASOT tonight and let us know what you thought!
