Global DJ Broadcast Nov 19 2015 (with Nifra)
It’s no secret that Coldharbour has immense talent on their label. Take into consideration the fact that the man who created it is one of the most talented DJs on this planet. This week’s GDJB featured the self-proclaimed “Queen Of Trance” Nifra and her unique stylings. I definitely enjoyed her guest mix this week, as well as all of the new music to keep me entertained throughout the weekend.
My first feature for this week’s podcast is a track from my own personal favorite collaborative team – New World Punx. The moment this track started it immediately sucked me in. In true NWP fashion, it sounds nothing like anything that’s currently being released. This is the sole reason why I love Markus and Ferry Corsten together. They have this perfect chemistry, in which they create a track entitled ‘Bang,’ which features distorted vocal sample chops encouraging listeners to “bang to the beat of the drum.”
Moving along in GDJB, we come to miss Nifra’s guest spot. I like when Markus features his own artists because you can see their talent really shine through. Of course, she starts off with her delicious intro mix of one of her most recent releases, ‘Army of Lights’ featuring the heavenly vocals of Seri. We then have her collaboration with the man himself, Markus Schulz, in this year’s Trancemission Theme, ‘The Creation (Prague).’ But the most noteworthy track for me is ‘Rampage,’ a beyond epic collaborative effort between Nifra and Artisan, which pounds through your ears with its powerful nature and melody. I believe this one will be a festival staple for years to come!
To wrap this week up, comes a classic that will never again be recreated. In this one, Markus has created an impeccable melody that still fits into his sets to this day. ‘Future Cities,’ which was released back in 1998 is the perfect ending to a perfect episode of GDJB. In my humble opinion, this is one of the most amazing tracks he has ever produced. I’m glad he closed out this episode with it, as I don’t think many people know of it unless their a Schulz fanatic like myself.
The combo of the Queen of Trance and the Unicorn Slayer was the perfect way to enter the weekend! I love when Markus gives one of the rookies a chance to showcase their passion. To me, it proves that he truly cares about his Coldharbour artists. See you lovely people next week!
