ABGT 147: Group Therapy 147 with Jody Wisternoff & James Grant

I am so glad to be back for some much needed Group Therapy, not only for you guys, but for myself as well. ABGT 147 announced some exciting news for us Anjunaholics! In this episode, we have everything from Grum to Joris Voorn, and even some Anjunadeep for you subgenre house music fans.

Kicking it off with the Record of the Week’s ‘Bring Me Back Around’ by Norwegian artist Øistein Johan Eide, better known by his stage name Boom Jinx. Like DJ Kaskade, his favorite genre is Deep House and he incorporates these elements into most of his tracks. This time, he is back with Meredith Call for another single. His previous collaboration with Meredith Call, ‘The Dark,’ was my personal favorite on Anjunabeats Volume 11 and it even became #1 on Beatport’s Trance Top 100 Releases in August of 2014. Definitely a favorite for anyone that loves the incorporation of deep grooves into ambient trance.

I just want to throw in how happy I am to hear Alex Klingle’s tracks lately. The newly signed Anjunabeats artist had his debut on last week’s ABGT, as well as yesterday’s ASOT. Such a pleasure to have an Anjunadeep guest mix this week! In between managing Above & Beyond and running the Anjunabeats label, James Grant has found the time to unleash his own blend of deep, melodic and tech house around the world. He has opened for the likes of Eric Prydz, provided frequent warms up for Above & Beyond, and is a resident at Ministry of Sound’s regular Anjunadeep parties. For evidence of James’s credentials as the impeccable tastemaker behind Anjunabeats’ offshoot house label, Anjunadeep, one need look no further than his monthly Anjunadeep Edition of the Anjunabeats Worldwide radio show. Coincidentally, the Anjunadeep 07 compilation was released today and it is more than words can describe! Jody Wisternoff, an English producer best known as one half of the progressive house duo Way Out West, provides the second half of support for the compilation. I would also like mention that I will be doing an in-depth review for it after I have the chance to listen to it fully.

It was also great to hear Thomas Schwartz & Fausto Fanizza’s ‘Dawn To Dusk,’ which is another favorite of mine. As I previously mentioned Aniunabeats Volume 11, you should know that they kick it off with their deep hit ‘You Would.’ Fantastic mix today, am I right? For the record, I would just like to say that I truly appreciate Above & Beyond’s passion and that they truly are all we need. <3
