ABGT 159: Group Therapy 159 with Alex Klingle
Leading off the show was ‘Memories’ by Andrew Bayer. The track was debuted at ABGT 150 in Sydney, and it’s the 3rd and final tune off Andrew’s Anamnesis trilogy. All three tracks have received an incredible amount of support and it’s tough for me to pick a favorite off it, but I think ‘Nobody Told Me’ takes the cake on it.
I thought I’d go a little off base with the next track. I assume that not many people have heard of Spencer Brown, but ‘Lockout’ has me on the lookout for this up and coming producer. Having shared the stage with producers such as Jerome Isma-Ae, Sunny Lax, and Super 8 & Tab, the future looks bright for him! This week’s Push the Button is a bootleg by Above & Beyond. The track is a mashup of ‘Cairo’ by Jason Ross and ‘Amsterdam’ by Luminary. Having been played all year by the trio, it got such a huge reception from audiences around the world that they decided to release it. I’m a huge fan of ‘Cairo’ on its own, so I wasn’t sure how much I would like the bootleg, but as always A&B never disappoint.
Alex Klingle has guest mix duties and boy did he ever deliver. The highlight of the Vancouver product’s guest mix for me was his edit of ‘Can’t Sleep’ by Above & Beyond and ‘Patience’ by Super8 & Tab. Simply fantastic. I’m excited for what lies ahead with his talents.
Next week, Jono is back running the show for ABGT 160 with a guest mix from Andre Sobota. Should be another outstanding show, so be sure to check it out!
