ABGT135: Group Therapy 135 with Sébastien Léger

ABGT135: Group Therapy 135 with Sébastien Léger

I hope you all enjoy Friday and techno as much as I do. What’s better than knowing your weekend and a brand new episode of ABGT is only a few short hours away? Each week I sit at my desk at work, praying for the clock to strike 2, so I can be transported away from my mundane life with my weekly Group Therapy. Above & Beyond always knows exactly what to play to have us forget all of our troubles, with new music from Jason Ross, Pierce Fulton, and some delicious remixes of their own tracks, today’s ABGT was no exception.

Jono was our host for ABGT135 with a fantastic guest mix from a techno veteran, Sébastien Léger. By far, my first favorite of this episode was the ABGT debut of Jason Ross’s new track ‘Ravenna.’ Luckily the Anjunabeats YouTube Channel uploaded the track earlier today, so I was able to feature it in our Trance Life featured ABGT135 tracks. As I’ve said before, Jason Ross is by far one of my favorite Anjunabeats breakout artists and I’m extremely excited for his first ABGT Guest Mix next Friday. That is definitely not something you should miss!

We had some repeat plays with ‘Solaris’ and the Thomas Schwartz & Fausto Fanizza remix of ‘Peace of Mind’ from ABGT133. As well as a delicious deep edit from Vintage & Morelli of my favorite Above & Beyond track,’You Got To Go.’ I definitely enjoyed that one and I would have loved to feature it, but apparently it is still in progress. My next feature also happens to be today’s Push The Button Track. Grum’s ‘Lightspeed,’ as well as all of his tracks from the Trine EP are truly remarkable and showcase the versatility of his production skills. On Soundcloud, it says that ‘Lightspeed’ is supposed to be retro-futurist trance, but to me that is a complete oxymoron. What do you think?

On to some delicious techno for all you techno heads… Sébastien Léger, French DJ and Producer, has captivated audiences around the world with his melodic techno for over 20 years. This year, he has finally developed his own record label, Temple of Lions. I’m extremely excited for future projects from Temple of Lions, as I was first introduced to Electronica with Techno. My tastes have changed over the years, but I can not deny the ferocity of this guest mix. These last 30 minutes of ABGT135 were definitely my favorite, so I hope you all enjoy them as much as I did!
